What to Bring to Your Notary Appointment
Being prepared for your notary appointment ensures everything goes smoothly and your documents are properly executed.
Always Required
- Valid government-issued photo ID — California driver's license, state ID, US passport, or military ID. The name must match the name on the document exactly.
- Unsigned documents — Do not sign the documents before the notary arrives. The notary must witness your signature.
- All pages of the document — Bring the complete document, not just the signature page.
For Real Estate & Loan Documents
- Complete document package as provided by the title company or lender
- Any instructions provided by escrow or the lender
- A check or wire confirmation if funds are required at signing
For Power of Attorney
- The completed POA document (unsigned)
- Valid photo ID for all parties signing
- Witnesses if required by your specific document (we can advise)
For Trust & Will Documents
- Complete trust or will document package
- Valid photo ID
- Any witnesses required by the document
For Hospital Appointments
- Patient's photo ID (or credible identifying witnesses if ID is unavailable)
- Unsigned documents
- Hospital room number and any visitor restrictions
- Contact number for the person meeting the notary
